Software engineer creating systems that think.
Brent Brison — Building at the intersection of ML, infrastructure, and product. Currently doing independent research and freelance software work; previously Figure AI, Headstarter, Mobalytics, and Interweave Capital.
Passionate about creating thoughtful, user-centered full-stack and AI solutions. I care about the full picture, from how a system is built to how it actually lands for the people using it.
Things I’ve shipped.

Replaced a paper-based campus parking operation with an end-to-end web platform — vehicle registration, permit purchasing, ticket management. Led the back-end architecture.

Simulated and analyzed Santa Cruz tidal data with a team of four. Identified a 2-ft deviation from baseline caused by tsunami impact from the Hunga Tonga–Hunga Haʻapai eruption.

Built an environmental telemetry stack on a Raspberry Pi 400B — DHT11 sensor, C ingest layer, MariaDB store, real-time stats for temperature and humidity.

Linear-regression model in Python predicting future student GPA from a structured dataset. End-to-end: data prep, training loop, evaluation.
A balanced approach.
I’m an engineer who cares about the quality of what I build — focused on applications and solutions that genuinely improve how users and organizations work, whether that's better products, sharper tools, or more reliable workflows.
I care deeply about the work I put my name on and hold myself to a high bar. At the same time, a perfect solution that never ships helps nobody. I've learned to move fast, iterate, and know when something is ready to meet the world.
When I'm not at a keyboard I'm on the mats training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, in the gym, out on a trail, or (hopefully) traveling! Anything that gets me moving or competing.
Where I’ve worked.

Let’s build something.
The fastest way to reach me is email — I read everything and reply within a day unless I am out of town.
